The biological evolution of human beings has determined the development of the notion of gender in our societies. It is one of the universal dimensions of status differences. Sex is a biological phenomenon but we humans have created gender and societal norms.
As a part of this society and as a woman I wonder how society would be shaped if our biological evolution took a different path? What if there was no notion of gender and we were all hermaphrodites? What if we did not need a mate to reproduce?
